Standard Bank Namibia
Standard Bank Namibia is one of the oldest and largest banks in the country. It opened its first commercial branch on 19 August 1915 in Lüderitz and has operated continuously for more than 110 years, making it a deeply rooted Namibian institution.
The bank is a subsidiary of the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest banking group by assets. It provides a full range of financial services covering personal banking, business banking, corporate and investment banking, vehicle and asset finance, and insurance solutions.
Standard Bank Namibia maintains an extensive national footprint with dozens of branches and agencies, hundreds of ATMs, and strong digital banking channels (including the Standard Bank App and PayPulse wallet). This network supports both retail customers and large institutional clients.
The bank has consistently been recognised for excellence, winning awards such as “Namibia Best Bank” and “Best Investment Bank” over the years. It plays a significant role in financing government, parastatals, corporates, and infrastructure projects while also serving individual and SME clients.
In recent years Standard Bank Namibia has reported solid financial performance, with strong growth in loans and advances and improved credit quality. Its holding company, Standard Bank Namibia Holdings Limited, is listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange under the ticker SNO.
Guided by the brand promise to help customers “Move Forward,” the bank continues to invest in digital innovation, financial inclusion, and sustainable finance while leveraging the broader Standard Bank Group’s African and international capabilities.
