LEFA Transportation Services is a Windhoek-based urban mobility company founded in 2018 that operates Namibia’s first major ride-hailing platform. The name comes from the Oshiwambo word for requesting a lift or ride.

The company connects passengers with registered drivers through its mobile app for on-demand trips within Windhoek and surrounding areas. Services cover everyday commuting, airport transfers to Hosea Kutako International Airport, lodge transfers, and small package deliveries.

Drivers undergo vetting that includes criminal record checks, vehicle inspections, Namibia Tourism Board registration, and public road carrier permits. Rides can be tracked in real time, and the platform supports both cash and cashless payments.

Beyond individual rides, LEFA provides business-to-business solutions such as staff transport for companies with larger workforces, conference and event transfers, and corporate airport or point-to-point arrangements. It has worked with embassies, corporations, hotels, airlines, and tour operators.

The company has expanded into electric vehicle options and initiatives involving female drivers as part of broader mobility projects. It has reported completing hundreds of thousands of rides since launch and continues to position itself as a safer, technology-enabled alternative to conventional taxis.
