Namibia Padel
Namibia Padel was the first commercial operator to introduce padel (sometimes called padel tennis) to Namibia. It secured prime grounds in Olympia, Windhoek, opposite DTS on the corner of Sean McBride and Tennis Street, and built four courts. The first games were played on 20 April 2024.
The company later added two courts on the Platz-am-Meer promenade in Swakopmund (Platz Am Meer Waterfront Mall, corner of Tsavorite & Albatros Street), which opened on 16 December 2024 with sea views. Further expansion plans have been mentioned for places such as Walvis Bay and Lüderitz. Courts operate daily from 06:00 to 23:00.
It runs a fully automated online booking system and a dedicated “Namibia Padel” app (available on Apple and Android stores). Players can book courts, rent rackets and balls, join open matches, and use a credit-top-up system that can effectively reduce rates. Cancellations within 24 hours of a booking are not refunded to keep courts fully utilised.
The business emphasises the social nature of the sport. It hosts corporate leagues (notably the long-running Alexforbes Corporate Padel League, which expanded to the coast), tournaments, team-building events, coaching sessions, and community or charity days. Court sponsorships (such as MUMI Investment Managers naming a Windhoek court) and brand partnerships are common. Private coaching and school programmes are also offered.
Padel at these venues uses standard glass-enclosed outdoor courts with artificial turf. The operator focuses on making the sport accessible for beginners through equipment rental and pay-to-play (no traditional membership fees), while also supporting more competitive play through leagues and events. The Windhoek site has four courts; the coastal site has two.
Since launch, Namibia Padel has helped drive rapid growth of the sport in the country, alongside other later clubs. It positions itself as a social and recreational hub as well as a competitive venue, with regular events that bring together corporate teams, local players of all levels, and visitors. The model relies on high utilisation of courts in the evenings and weekends, supported by the credit system, app bookings, and ongoing promotions.
