Namibia Tourism Board
The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) is the official government agency responsible for the regulation, development, and marketing of tourism in Namibia. As the national Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO), it works to position Namibia as a premier and unique tourism destination while ensuring that tourism growth is sustainable and benefits local communities.
NTB’s mandate includes registering and regulating tourism enterprises, setting and maintaining industry standards, and facilitating the implementation of the national tourism policy. It acts as the bridge between the public and private sectors, supporting stakeholders to deliver quality tourism experiences across the country.
A major part of NTB’s work involves destination marketing and promotion. The Board actively markets Namibia both locally and internationally through campaigns, trade shows, digital platforms, and partnerships with tour operators and travel agents. Its “Visit Namibia” branding highlights the country’s unique landscapes, wildlife, culture, and adventure offerings.
In addition to promotion, NTB focuses on product development and quality assurance. It supports the growth of new tourism products, encourages responsible tourism practices, and works to improve service standards across accommodation, tour guiding, and other tourism-related businesses through registration and training initiatives.
NTB also plays an important role in research, statistics, and policy support. It collects and analyses tourism data to inform decision-making and works closely with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) and other stakeholders to address challenges and opportunities in the sector.
Through its regional offices and international representatives, the Namibia Tourism Board ensures coordinated efforts to grow Namibia’s tourism industry in a sustainable manner. Its work contributes significantly to job creation, economic diversification, and the conservation of Namibia’s natural and cultural heritage.
