NAMIBIA BUSINESS SCHOOL

The Namibia Business School (NBS) was founded in direct response to the specific demands and requirements of the Namibian market. Its inception can be traced back to the year 1999 when Professor Peter Katjavivi, the esteemed Founding Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia, collaborated with Professor Mohammed El Toukhy, the former head of the Economics Department, along with the support of the FNB Foundation. This collaboration led to a transformative partnership with the renowned Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, resulting in the establishment of the Executive MBA Programme at UNAM.

Since its commencement in the year 2000, the Executive MBA Programme has successfully nurtured and empowered over 175 ambitious individuals who have emerged as accomplished graduates, equipped with esteemed diplomas and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration (MBA). The visionary leadership of the late Lazarus Ipangelwa, under the auspices of the FNB Foundation, played a pivotal role in recognizing the significance of this program and providing unwavering financial support. It is this enduring commitment that positions FNB as one of the esteemed Founders of the Namibia Business School.

The realization of the Namibia Business School owes its gratitude to a collective of exceptional individuals who tirelessly oversaw the development and evolution of the UNAM/MsM MBA Programme, while also nurturing the concept of a comprehensive and fully-fledged business school. Their dedication and unwavering efforts have yielded fruitful outcomes, solidifying the establishment of the Namibia Business School as an institution of distinction. This esteemed group of individuals includes the notable contributions of Professor Peter H. Katjavivi, Professor M. M. El Toukhy, Mr. D. R. Norval, Mr. A. Aochamub, and Ms. Y. M. Yon.

The cumulative efforts of these visionaries have established the Namibia Business School as a premier academic institution, providing exceptional educational opportunities and transforming aspiring professionals into accomplished leaders.
