Dynamic Water Solutions
Dynamic Water Solutions is a Namibian company that designs and implements water treatment systems, with a focus on reverse osmosis and mini desalination plants. It has targeted saline or brackish borehole water that is otherwise unfit for human consumption or irrigation in arid communal areas. The firm has been described as employing young local engineers to develop practical, lower-cost solutions suited to Namibian conditions.
In 2022 the company was awarded a pilot project funded by the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF) at a value of about N$1 million. It constructed three mini reverse-osmosis desalination units at communal water points near Spitzkoppe in the Daures Constituency, Erongo Region (Farm Vrede, Goiegeluk Pos and Santamab Pos). These units were handed over to improve access to usable water for local farmers and households affected by low rainfall and high-salinity groundwater.
The company supplies and installs associated equipment, including mono pumps, solar-powered pump systems and electrical pump systems for boreholes. It has also demonstrated automated controls such as float switches and water-level probes that allow pumps to operate without constant manual intervention. Agricultural applications and water-supply systems form part of its scope.
Co-owner Ashipalawu Shona has been publicly associated with the firm and has encouraged young Namibians to pursue science and engineering fields that address local challenges. Agricultural engineer Gerson Nhinda has represented the company in media interviews discussing purification technologies and greener water solutions.
The business positions itself around homegrown technical capacity for water purification and agricultural water infrastructure. It has participated in events such as the Windhoek Agricultural and Livestock Show and has been recognised by government officials for delivering practical solutions within constrained budgets. Its work aligns with broader efforts to address water scarcity in rural and communal settings.
